Affiliate Marketing Basics Part 1: What Is Affiliate Marketing?

Now that I've given everyone some resources to start earning a few bucks, it's time to go over basic ways to earn even more money. You don't have to be college-educated or a computer whiz to make money online. Quite simply, you just need to be armed with the right information.

Many people are earning full-time and part-time income through affiliate marketing. Another company maintains the products or services you sell. This means you do not have to have storage space for inventory or a complicated website. Companies want to sell more goods and services but can't do everything themselves. This is where affiliate marketing makes it happen.

Affiliate promote various products and services through a unique, customized link. When anyone visits the company website to make a purchase, a commission is earned by the affiliate marketer. The goods or services are sent or provided by the company you represent. All you need to do is sell them.

Starting your own blog and linking to various affiliates is one of the easiest ways to start promoting various products and services. Other ways include commenting on other blogs with a back link to your offer and creating your own website to promote a variety of products and services.

In essense, affiliate marketing is online sales. To make other people buy what you're selling, you should know something about it and be enthusiastic. Nobody wants to purchase goods or services from a fly-by-night salesperson who doesn't seem to know anything.

Informative articles, useful blog posts and testimonials are effective ways to show your knowledge and support for affiliate offerings. Select a theme and promote products and services for that subject. An example is a blog about dogs selling dog tags, food, dishes and pet insurance. This encourages targeted traffic who are interested in dogs to visit your website. Persuasive copy makes them take action.

Our next entry will discuss the important of persuasive writing and offering relevant information.
